About The Position

The Floral Clerk position at Hy-Vee involves providing exceptional customer service while creating and managing floral arrangements. Requirements

• Less than High School education or six months of similar work experience.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Basic arithmetic skills involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to file, post, and mail materials, and guide people.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
• Greets customers in a friendly manner and makes an effort to learn their names.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, loading/unloading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides helpful service to callers.
• Assists customers with placing orders and completes the necessary paperwork.
• Prepares, finishes, and replenishes floral products including arrangements, corsages, and bouquets.
• Waters plants and prepares daily delivery lists.
• Sends and retrieves orders over the computer and reviews floral products for freshness.
• Unloads trucks and places products in appropriate storage areas.
• Maintains cleanliness of the work area and ensures adherence to hygiene and dress guidelines.
