About The Position

The Floor Technician is responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface, carpet, etc. flooring systems to include stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction & bonneting. Responsibility includes all areas of the facility, including offices, cafes or breakrooms, classrooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, and maintenance areas, including shops, breakrooms, mechanical spaces, etc.

Requirements

High School Diploma, or equivalent.
3 years progressive experience in the performance of tasks associated with assigned job duties or equivalent combination of training and experience is preferred.
Knowledge of how to strip, wax and burnish floors with minimal to no assistance
Knowledge of operating various pieces of equipment necessary to effectively perform job functions, such as a high speed buffer, extractor, wet vac, pressure washer, auto scrubber
Understand and abide by all applicable Safety Data Sheets (SDS) procedures
Ability to understand and follow direction from managers

Responsibilities

This job requires the safe and proper use of specialized floor equipment
Obey all safety requirements and procedures at all times
Perform preventative maintenance check on all equipment prior to use
Secure the work area and post proper safety notices (wet floor signs, etc.) for other users of the space prior to beginning work
Floor care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells
Vacuum, shampoo, bonnet and extract carpets
Perform routine restroom floor scrubbing
Perform routine office and/or classroom cleaning
Maintain floor care equipment
Seek an understanding and practice of modern industry standards and techniques for optimum quality and efficiency
Performs other specific tasks as necessary to adhere to TKC Janitorial Specifications
Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management
Maintain logs per ACA requirements as applicable
