About The Position

A Floor Technician (Floor Tech) is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and restoring hard surfaces and carpets in commercial buildings. Key duties include stripping, waxing, buffing, and shampooing/extracting carpets using industrial machinery, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety compliance.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in environmental services, janitorial work or specifically in floor care
• Completion of drug screening and background check
• Capable of frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting/pushing equipment, often up to 50 pounds
• Understanding of different floor types and the appropriate cleaning chemicals or methods
• Evening availability (after 6pm).

Responsibilities

• Scrub and Polish hard floors (NORA, LVT, etc) using heavy-duty, powered buffing/burnishing and scrubbing machines
• Vacuum, extract, and/or bonnet clean carpets to remove stains and maintain appearance
• Move furniture before and after sweeping/mopping floors, clean baseboards and polish stainless steel
• Follow infection control procedures, properly dilute and handle chemicals, and use safety signs to manage wet floors
• Clean and maintain elevator tracks
