About The Position

PBRMC Hospital is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Trash Technician to support a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position is responsible for the collection, transportation, and proper disposal of trash and hazardous waste throughout the facility. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old
Communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment
Must practice good personal hygiene, be neatly groomed, and be in uniform
Standing, walking, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching continuously throughout a shift
Pushing and pulling carts or equipment (over 100 lb.) on tile and carpeted floors continuously throughout a shift
Must handle chemicals including bleach, wax, and disinfectants
Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job
Applicants must pass a background check, drug screen, and provide proof of employment eligibility in the U.S.
Many healthcare facilities require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption in place.

Responsibilities

Collect and remove trash and hazardous waste from patient rooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
Transport waste to designated disposal and compactor areas.
Replace trash liners and maintain the cleanliness of waste containers.
Operate trash carts and compactors safely and efficiently.
Follow hospital safety, infection control, and waste management policies.
Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance issues.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Assist Environmental Services team members as needed.
