High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area, e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc., plus 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
IN COMPLIANCE WITH the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) requirements relative to precautions to prevent the spread of blood borne diseases, the following information is provided concerning this position: HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES STAFF, (i.e.: Housekeeper I Housekeeper II (Supervisor) Day/Night Floor Technician Laundry I Laundry II ( Supervisor) ARE PLACED IN CATEGORY I DUE TO THEIR POSSIBLE CONTACT WITH BODILY FLUIDS IN THE COMPLETION OF THEIR ROUTINE JOB FUNCTIONS OF PROCESSING SOILED LAUNDRY FROM THE HEALTH CENTER.
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk hear, and occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Employee must have excellent balance and be able to climb a ladder and walk around a roof.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and be able to work at heights.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus as well as work on a computer for extended periods of time.
The employee must be able to communicate verbally with other on the phone or in person.

Responsibilities

Be able to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
Follow established safety precautions.
Perform proper techniques of floor care and preparation of areas to be cleaned, buffed, stripped, or waxed as well as carpet cleaning.
Must be able to operate and maintain all floor cleaning/finishing equipment to include but not limited to floor buffer/burnishes, water extraction machine, and carpet cleaning equipment.
Follow established safety precautions for cleaning and maintaining all areas of the facility.
Prepare all set ups with tables and chairs, as directed by set up diagram.
Remove and transport all trash from the soiled linen rooms and hallways to trash dumpsters.
Clean main dining room before morning meal, staff dining room, Lobby restrooms, rehab/therapy gym and offices.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Housekeeping.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
