About The Position

This position is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and repairing carpeted and hard floor surfaces. Duties include but are not limited to performing all floor cleaning and maintenance duties for facilities using ServiceMaster provided tools and procedures. Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, polishing, vacuuming, shampooing carpets, stripping, waxing, buffing, moving furniture, disinfecting floors with sanitizer, spot cleaning, and cleaning of elevators and stairs. The role requires a thorough understanding of buffing, stripping floors, waxing, and identifying different flooring types. Additionally, the ability to operate various floor equipment and machinery is essential, along with maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment. Proper use of PPE and safety equipment is required. The position also involves opening and locking facilities and enabling and disabling security systems as required.

Requirements

• Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, kneeling, twisting, reaching
• Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 55lbs
• Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and uses
• Minimum 1-2 years' experience as a floor tech is highly desired but not required
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to be flexible and work at a fast pace in a multi-tasked job
• Contribute to a positive work climate with a pleasant attitude
• Dependable and punctual

Responsibilities

• Perform all floor cleaning and maintenance duties for facilities using ServiceMaster provided tools and procedures
• Sweep, mop, polish, vacuum, shampoo carpets, strip, wax, buff floors
• Move furniture as needed for cleaning
• Disinfect floors with sanitizer
• Spot clean as necessary
• Clean elevators and stairs
• Achieve thorough understanding of buffing, stripping floors, waxing, and identifying different flooring types
• Operate various floor equipment and machinery
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
• Use proper PPE and safety equipment as required
• Open and lock facilities, enable and disable security system as required
