Essential Job Functions: Using approved equipment, Floor tech will be responsible for all types of floor care Floor care includes these but not limited to: carpet cleaning, stripping, sealing, refinishing, replacing, scrubbing and other forms of care as needed. Reports all maintenance defects to supervisor or Director of Environmental Services Uses equipment and supplies as directed and follows all the instructions listed on the material Safety Data Sheets. Assists the Team in clean up and disposal as needed and required. Performs other duties as assigned. Willing to perform other duties as required by management or as the special project requires. Adheres to Morningside core anchors. Qualifications: Education: Grammar school education required; high school or its equivalent preferred. Must be able to read, speak, write and comprehend English. 2.Training and Experience: one year floor tech experience. Certifications/Licenses: none required. Job Knowledge: Knowledge of procedures and techniques necessary to provide floor care and other duties as assigned. Additional Performance Responsibilities : All primary responsibilities are to be performed and are subject to change as deemed necessary by management. Employee is required to comply with attendance and tardiness standards established by management. Working Conditions: Most work will be in in a clean, well-lighted, ventilated building. Some may work may include being outside and subjected to the cold and extreme heat. Some evening and weekend and on call work may be required. Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking short distances during the work day, lifting materials, lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, handling, fingering, pushing, pulling, carrying, reaching overhead, reaching forward, reaching low, stooping, kneeling, climbing, crouching, twisting motion, and balancing. Corrected vision to 20/20 and hearing to normal range. Requires ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions. Requires ability to move maintenance equipment as needed, using up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people. Work deals mostly with objects, equipment and/or machines where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach. Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are of some importance. Requires ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, handle, stand, and walk over 75% of shift.
