About The Position

The Floorhand plays a key role in supporting well servicing operations by assisting with the safe and efficient running and pulling of pipe from wells. Working under the direction of the Rig Supervisor, this position operates various rig tools and equipment, handles tubulars and wellhead components, and ensures adherence to safety procedures. The Floorhand helps maintain equipment, contributes to smooth rig operations, and supports the overall success of field activities.

Requirements

  • Ability to use rig tools safely and follow technical instructions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stay alert and maintain situational awareness in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and adherence to safety procedures.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and handle heavy materials frequently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must meet Driver Acceptability Profile requirements (driving position).
  • No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the rig operator in running and pulling pipe from the wellbore.
  • Help install or remove wellheads and related equipment.
  • Handle and position tubing, rods, casing, and associated well equipment such as rod strippers, polish rods, and pumps.
  • Operate rod wrenches, tongs, elevators, and other rig tools during well servicing operations.
  • Assist with spooling or unspooling guy lines, operating hydraulic jacks, and placing emergency or safety gear.
  • Maintain tubing, rod tongs, and hand tools used on the rig.
  • Follow all Dugan Production Corp. HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and procedures at all times.
  • Use appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) consistently.
  • Drive a company vehicle as needed to fuel the rig or fill water tanks, following all applicable driving requirements.
  • Monitor other rig hands for safe work practices and communicate any hazards or issues.
  • Maintain clear communication with the rig operator and crew to ensure efficient operations.
  • Work effectively as part of the rig crew to achieve team goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Rig Supervisor.
