About The Position

The Floor Finisher position in our Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position requires good interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with others. This position, according to established procedures, will move furniture, equipment and supplies in and around facility departments; and performs a variety of facility duties to maintain the facility in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in facility maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
Knowledge of building systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures.
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry work.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with residents, families, and staff.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness, safety, and functionality standards.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures, including fire safety and emergency response protocols.
Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, per the facility's needs.

Responsibilities

Receives cleaning materials and supplies according to procedures.
Monitors and cleans assigned areas using a prescribed cleaning solution or stripper.
Monitors and cleans assigned areas by washing walls, doors, door frames, ceiling, ceiling vents, clinical equipment, furniture and windows.
Sweeps and mops floor area, vacuums carpets, spot cleans carpets by using appropriate solutions and arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning assigned area.
May be responsible for stripping and refinishing hard surface floors, extracting and/or bonnet buffing carpet and other floor care procedures.
Requests cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
Operates various types of cleaning equipment both mechanical and electrical; buffers, wringers, scrubbers, extractors, and vacuums.
Cleans equipment and notifies management of equipment n3eding repair. Reports any safety hazards to management.
Returns unused supplies to storage area, cleans carts and equipment and replaces all items in an orderly manner.
Arranges furniture for meetings, workshops, and community affairs.
Must follow assigned work schedules. Must take request or order from Housekeeping management. Must assist other workers with duties as needed as determined by Housekeeping management.
Must correctly use equipment, chemicals, etc. as needed.
