As a Housekeeper, you'll provide a reassuring presence while cleaning patient rooms throughout our hospital. Full Time Role - 40 Hours a Week 6:00 PM to 2:30 AM Monday thru Friday Overview Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more. Housekeeping is vital in reducing infection by maintaining a clean facility for the hospital, medical office building and Eunice Smith Nursing Home. The housekeeping department is responsible for daily cleaning of all patient care areas and the periodic cleaning of all offices and support space. The skills range from routine cleaning to sterile cleaning processes. Role Purpose The Floor Finisher is responsible for cleaning and refinishing floors (buffing, stripping, waxing) on a regular basis, in accordance with standard procedures of the housekeeping department. May involve terminal cleaning of operating room suites.

Requirements

<2 years Experience
No Experience Supervisor Experience

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or GED Education
2-5 years Experience
< 2 years Supervisor Experience

Responsibilities

Performs floor care and project cleaning functions in assigned areas.
Keeps equipment clean and functional according to procedures.
Handles hazardous and infectious waste properly.
Reports defects to supervisor.
Responds to emergency spills according to procedure.
