About The Position

The Floor Care Technician is responsible for maintaining the appearance and longevity of hard surface floors and carpets through advanced cleaning and restoration techniques. This position requires experience in stripping and recoating floors, shampooing carpets, and safely moving furniture. The ideal candidate is dependable, personable, flexible with scheduling, and able to work independently without direct supervision, including early morning shifts.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in professional floor care and carpet cleaning
  • Knowledge of floor finishes, stripping and recoating processes, and carpet care methods
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively without supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Friendly, professional demeanor with good communication skills
  • Dependable, punctual, and flexible with work hours
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and pushing/pulling equipment
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods

Nice To Haves

  • Previous custodial, facilities, or commercial cleaning experience
  • Knowledge of safety standards (OSHA, SDS, chemical handling)

Responsibilities

  • Strip, scrub, and recoat hard surface floors (VCT, tile, wood etc.) according to established procedures
  • Perform carpet shampooing and extraction
  • Operate floor care equipment including auto scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, and carpet extractors
  • Safely move, lift, and reposition furniture and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Set up and break down work areas, including replacing furniture upon completion
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of equipment and supplies
  • Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply needs
  • Interact professionally and courteously with staff, clients, and building occupants
  • Follow all safety procedures and chemical handling guidelines
