About The Position

The Floor Care Technician at Encompass Onsite LLC is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of various floor surfaces, including hard surfaces and carpets, in a range of environments such as offices, classrooms, and public areas. This role involves using specialized equipment for floor maintenance tasks and performing light maintenance duties as needed. The technician will ensure compliance with safety regulations and uphold the standards of service expected by clients.

Requirements

• Previous floor care experience is required.
• Prior carpet-cleaning experience is preferred.
• Valid Driver's License is necessary.
• Ability to travel 85% within the assigned area using a company-provided service van.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required.
• Verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform overall floor maintenance including stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction, and bonneting of hard surface and carpeted areas.
• Conduct routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing, and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells.
• Vacuum, shampoo, bonnet, and extract carpets, stairwells, and upholstery.
• Clean walls and dust high and low areas as part of routine office and classroom cleaning.
• Move furniture to facilitate floor cleaning tasks.
• Perform simple maintenance tasks such as bulb changing and reporting repairs to the supervisor.
• Maintain floor care equipment and utility closets in a clean and orderly manner.
• Plan work schedules for major tasks and check areas for spills or hazards periodically.
• Comply with all safety regulations and procedures, including those set by OSHA and EPA.
