About The Position

The company is seeking an energetic floor technician to maintain the cleanliness of facility floors, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. This role involves dusting, wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing floors, removing spots from carpets, performing bonnet and carpet extraction cleaning, disposing of trash, and assisting with hazardous waste collection. The technician will operate floor sweepers, buffers, strippers, canister vacuum cleaners, and shop vacuums, and will be required to wear adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with chemicals and equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent preferred.
  • Prior professional janitorial or cleaning experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check in accordance with local laws and regulations.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. – We Use E-Verify.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior floor care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning offices, hallways, common areas, and other areas.
  • Moving furniture before and after cleaning.
  • Cleaning, dusting, mopping, stripping, and waxing floors.
  • Operating floor equipment including extractors and buffing machines.
  • Use hand and power tools such as floor polishers, vacuum cleaners, mops, floor strippers.
  • Inspect floors for any damage and carrying out minor repairs.
  • Measuring chemicals correctly.
  • Operating chemical dispensing units.
  • Labeling chemicals correctly.
  • Cleaning, maintaining, and storing equipment and PPE proficiently.
  • Keeping an inventory of floor areas, and scheduling cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Reporting maintenance issues to supervisor.
  • Assisting with the hazardous waste collection as requested by your supervisor.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.
