The Floor Care Specialist cleans, strips and waxes floors, shampoos carpets, and extracts in main corridors, patient rooms, office areas, clinics, support areas and any other areas assigned. He/She operates cleaning equipment in a proficient, safe and effective manner, to include: vacuum cleaners (dry and wet type), floor scrubbers, pressure washers, high speed burnishers, rotary carpet machines, carpet extractors and dry foam shampooers. The Floor Care Specialist serves as an Environmental Services Aide when needed, cleaning patient rooms, units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, bathrooms, corridors, entrances, elevators and stairways in a timely, neat and sanitary manner. He/She ensures all infectious medical waste placement in "Biohazardous" containers and removes to central trash room. Expectation is for all performed duties to be in accordance with Singing River Health System procedures and policies, accreditation organization, and governing guidance and publications for health care employees.
