About The Position

The Floor Care Specialist is responsible for floor care throughout the facility and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for elders, staff, and visitors at Londonderry Village. They are also responsible for ensuring that assigned work areas are kept orderly and free of safety hazards.

Requirements

  • One year of experience using floor care and housekeeping equipment required.
  • Must follow all universal precautions procedures, including use of personal protective equipment, due to the potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
  • Ability to complete all essential functions of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain the necessary equipment and supplies before proceeding to the assigned work area.
  • Notify management of equipment needing repair.
  • Practice standard infection control procedures and wear personal protective equipment when needed.
  • Follow all established safety rules and procedures and report any safety concerns/hazards to supervisor.
  • Return unused supplies to the appropriate storage area at the end of each shift.
  • Keep carts, closets, and equipment clean, neat, and orderly at all times.
  • Ensure housekeeping card is locked if unattended.
  • Follow established procedures and use correct chemicals and equipment for each task.
  • Clean equipment before returning it to storage area.
  • Maintain equipment in proper working order and perform basic preventive care as necessary.
  • Use WorxHub for billing, scheduling, and quality reporting.
  • Use Paycom to clock in/out, submit time off requests, and approve timecard.
  • Use OnShift to monitor work schedule.
  • Understand and complete housekeeping and laundry tasks assigned by supervisor when necessary.
  • Perform basic floor care by vacuuming, dust mopping, and damp mopping floors in rooms, corridors, entrances, stairwells, and other areas as assigned.
  • Shampoo carpets, furniture, and mats as assigned.
  • Use an extractor for cleaning carpets and chairs as necessary.
  • Operate floor care equipment and ensure floors are maintained daily.
  • Follow assigned floor care schedule.
  • Respond to floor care emergency calls, such as: spills, markings, and bodily fluid spills using the proper equipment to clean the area.
  • Maintain floor care inventory and notify supervisor of chemical ordering.
  • Disinfect floor care equipment after each use.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
