About The Position

The Floating Self-Storage Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and appearance of self-storage properties. This role involves daily inspections, customer assistance, and various maintenance tasks to ensure facilities are presentable and safe for customers. The manager will also handle cleaning, repairs, and coordination with vendors, contributing to a positive customer experience and operational efficiency.

  • Ability to perform at a high level independently, but also thrive in a team environment
  • Proficient execution of Microsoft Outlook
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • 2+ years of general maintenance, construction, or related experience
  • Proven application of Electrical, Plumbing, and/or Carpentry
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable means of transportation
  • Maintain a clean driving record

  • Facilities maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Self-Storage: 1 year (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily facility inspections across multiple locations
  • Assist customers with general questions, directions, and concerns
  • Complete corrective/preventative maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner
  • Perform cleaning/janitorial functions for offices, restrooms, exterior areas, and interior hallways
  • Clean storage units after a customer vacates, preparing them for the next tenant
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Maintain supply and materials in stock, organize and replenish
  • Repair and maintain lighting fixtures, ballasts, and circuit switches
  • Locate and shut off valves and electrical circuits in an emergency
  • Operate and perform tests on electronic systems: Fire alarm, security, and timers
  • Clear drainage/sewage stoppages using appropriate equipment and methods
  • Locate and exercise isolation and shut off valves
  • Perform wall patching and painting, escalating depending on the size of the job/location
  • Attend and actively participate in staff/safety meetings
  • Schedule repairs with vendors in ServiceChannel
  • Communicate with Virtual Manager any updates, concerns, and red lock management
  • Assist with auction process, cutting locks, and taking photos
  • Understand and abide by all applicable Safety Data Sheets (SDS) procedures
