About The Position

Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Manages the day-to-day operation of the meat department inclusive of fresh meat case, deli, frozen case and custom cut department (where applicable) to include achieving budgeted financial results, ordering product/merchandise, human resource/training, and inventory control measures. Ensures that all corporate policies and procedures are adhered to at all times. Maintains excellent customer relations (both internally and externally) within the meat department on an ongoing basis by offering friendly service and a courteous attitude. Satisfies the customer by offering a fresh high quality product at all times to promote optimal opportunity for sales.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times.
  • Handle and merchandise all meat products according to company policy.
  • Display and express complete knowledge of all meat products to customers.
  • Smile, make eye contact, and thank customers upon fulfilling their requests.
  • Maintain a neat, clean and organized workstation according to 5S standards.
  • Achieve all budgeted financial figures for the Meat Department as stipulated in the store profit plan.
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Meat Department, including scheduling, training and other administrative duties.
  • Order meat products and ensure that inventory control methods are in place.
  • Cut meat using knives, saws, cubers, slicers and grinders.
  • Maintain corporate safety standards throughout the meat department.
  • Oversee all Meat Department associates and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Train all meat associates in accordance with corporate and state policies and procedures.
  • Maintain all corporate assets within the meat department.
  • Adhere to proper sanitation and temperature guidelines including corporate, state and federal inspection guidelines.
  • Maintain grind logs and meat logs consistent with store policy.
  • Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
