About The Position

OMG currently operates in two Divisions: OMG Roofing Products and FastenMaster®. OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. At OMG, the Floater will work with our 1st Shift E-Coat and Dip Spin Teams in this finished goods production area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to interpret safety instructions, job orders, quality specifications, and other related documents.
  • Good written and verbal communication, and basic math skills.
  • Strong math and mechanical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to contribute as part of a team.
  • Positive can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work in high-noise areas and wear appropriate hearing protection devices.
  • Manual material handling involving the need to grip, squeeze, and pinch.
  • Ability to use a hard tined rake to move/break apart parts frequently.
  • The position requires the ability to regularly stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and regularly lift/push/pull/carry up to 50
  • Must be able to complete all essential job functions listed in the position responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Safety as the Number One Priority of all OMG employees.
  • Set up the machine, observe machine operation, and ensure the product is packed according to specifications.
  • Setup and operate various machines.
  • Perform quality checks on parts, ensuring parts meet quality specifications.
  • Package parts per specifications and palletize.
  • Rake product from loader into baskets to prepare for coating.
  • Using rake, level product in baskets on conveyors leading to coating machine.
  • Assist with unloading of product from baskets to tubs not downloaded automatically to packing machines.
  • Record production details as necessary.
  • Package fasteners at dump stations as necessary.
  • Maintain a neat and well-organized work area.
  • Assist with maintenance machine as necessary.
  • Other duties as directed by Shift Supervisor or Group Leader.
