As a Floater Dental Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a vital, cross-functional role in supporting both the clinical and administrative teams. Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of dental experience required
  • Proficiency with Eaglesoft
  • Strong understanding of both clinical and front office workflows
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Positive attitude with a strong team-first mentality
  • Ability to adapt quickly and support multiple areas of the practice

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a warm, professional first point of contact for patients in person and over the phone
  • Answer calls, triage patient needs, and respond to questions or concerns with empathy and efficiency
  • Clearly explain treatment recommendations, insurance coverage, and financial responsibilities
  • Help create a seamless, positive patient journey from check-in through checkout
  • Schedule and manage the daily schedule to maximize productivity and flow
  • Ensure all hygiene patients are scheduled for their continuing care before leaving
  • Maintain and actively work continuing care and overdue treatment lists
  • Contact patients promptly when insurance preauthorizations are received and assist with scheduling
  • Accurately calculate and communicate co-pays, deductibles, and estimated patient portions prior to appointments
  • Collect and post payments at time of service, by phone, and through mail
  • Present financial options and coordinate payment arrangements according to practice protocols
  • Assist doctors and hygienists chairside as needed to maintain efficient clinical flow
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures
  • Take radiographs and ensure all diagnostic records are complete and accurate
  • Support sterilization, infection control protocols, and operatory turnover
  • Confirm all necessary radiographs, lab cases, and documentation are ready prior to patient visits
  • Verify medical clearances and required documentation are received before scheduled procedures
  • Send patient records and maintain accurate, up-to-date charts
  • Check in lab cases and ensure cases are ready for scheduled appointments
  • Document appointments with detailed, accurate clinical and financial notes
  • Support the Team Lead and leadership team with additional administrative needs
  • Step in wherever needed to support the success of the team and patient experience
