Requirements

Nursing license in the state of residence/state of placement.
Must hold a current license to practice in the state of WA.
Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development.

Responsibilities

Consult and collaborate with school staff and families in regards to students’ health and wellness.
Provide nursing services through the use of current best practices based on prescribed services in the IEP.
Communicate student medical status and concerns effectively to school staff and families.
Review and implement plans of care as detailed by school nursing staff and phsyicians.
Maintain all documentation required by the district including, but not limited to, vital signs, medication administration, daily notes, and any other documentation related to student medical status.
