About The Position

The Sales and Service Representative is a customer-facing role responsible for processing transactions and handling various customer service requests within the branch. This position involves educating customers about the bank's capabilities, tools, and resources. A key aspect of the role is to support the branch's sales efforts by identifying potential sales opportunities and referring them to the appropriate bank partners. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, demonstrating comfort and confidence in proactive engagement. Essential qualities include professionalism and empathy in customer interactions, the ability to learn and adapt quickly to new information and technology, and a collaborative spirit for building strong working relationships within the team and across functions. The role also demands flexibility to manage multiple demands and shift priorities efficiently, as well as agility in processing information and resolving problems quickly. Frequent driving to other offices and customer locations is required, and gas mileage will be reimbursed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 months of experience in customer service
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Financial literacy
  • Knowledge of retail banking products and services

Responsibilities

  • Foster collaborative partnerships that deliver value for customers, prospects and colleagues.
  • Initiate conversation to uncover sales or referral opportunities.
  • Listen attentively and ask insightful questions to understand customer needs and preferences; and take prompt actions to address immediate needs.
  • Proactively look for way to optimize performance by seeking coaching, supporting Bank initiatives and leveraging tools to enhance activities.
  • Comply with all regulations, bank policies, procedures and delegated authorities to manage risk related to credit, operational, reputational, regulatory and legal aspects of personal interactions, customer transactions and financial exposures.
  • Complete required training by established deadlines.
  • Perform general office management duties as assigned to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Accountable for transaction accuracy and operational efficiency of the deposit function (for associates in roles defined to take deposits), which may include accountability for individual contribution as well as team performance.
