About The Position

Experienced and adaptable Registered Nurses are needed to join a high-performing Float Pool Medical Surgical team in Gainesville, FL . This role offers the flexibility to work across multiple medical-surgical units, providing comprehensive patient care while gaining exposure to diverse clinical environments. Requirements

• Active Florida RN license or multistate compact license (must obtain FL license within 60 days of relocation).
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care Med-Surg RN experience .
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• Willingness to float between units and work 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends.
• Must reside within a commutable distance (under 60 minutes) of the facility.

Nice To Haves

• Additional acute care or specialty float experience.
• Strong clinical judgment and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a 7:1 nurse-to-patient ratio effectively.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care across multiple Med-Surg units.
• Serve as a patient advocate while ensuring privacy, safety, and confidentiality.
• Assess, plan, and implement individualized care for each patient.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Administer medications and perform clinical interventions per established protocols.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Adapt quickly to various unit protocols and patient care priorities.
