Overview Utilizes nursing process and knowledge of scientific principles to provide comprehensive, age appropriate nursing care for assigned patients on a variety of medical/surgical inpatient nursing units. Assists with the shift supervision of nonprofessional personnel as necessary. The Inpatient Float Pool provides a unique opportunity to work with a variety of pediatric patients in a variety of units. We fill in staffing gaps wherever they occur, finding out where we are assigned to work a few hours before the start of each shift. Inpatient Float Pool includes: Medical/Surgical Float Pool (RNs, CAs & PSTs) 1 Hall 4 West 4 Henson/Hall 4 Sutherland 5 Henson/Hall 5 Sutherland 6 Henson 6 Hall Children's Mercy Kansas Inpatient Low-acuity patients in the NICU Low-acuity patients in the Adele Hall Emergency Department and Children's Mercy Kansas Emergency Department ED Boarding At Children’s Mercy, we are committed to ensuring that everyone feels welcomed within our walls.
