About The Position

The Float Physical Therapist in Acute Care at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center is responsible for providing high-quality physical therapy services to patients. This role involves interpreting physician referrals, conducting evaluations, establishing treatment plans, and monitoring patient progress. The therapist will collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care and will be involved in discharge planning and documentation. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including potential weekend and holiday work, and may involve travel within a 45-minute radius from the home address.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Physical Therapy License in the State of Illinois or Wisconsin.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Experience in acute care settings.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record systems.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets physician referrals and completes evaluations.
  • Establishes and implements individual treatment plans based on evaluations.
  • Monitors and evaluates treatment outcomes, adjusting plans as necessary.
  • Plans and completes patient discharge, providing home programs and referrals.
  • Communicates and collaborates with stakeholders for optimal patient care.
  • Completes required documentation following department policy.
  • Maintains productivity standards and adheres to billing policies.
  • Cleans and organizes treatment areas after patient sessions.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Pursues professional growth through continuing education.
  • May supervise physical therapy assistants and students.
