Responsible for taking patient history and obtaining vital signs Perform basic testing or screenings such as vision, audio, urine drug screens, breath alcohol, EKGs, pulmonary function testing Perform necessary phlebotomy for collection of laboratory samples Accurately complete corresponding paperwork/computer work for lab tests ordered on blood, urine, tissue, and culture samples Perform point of care testing such as strep, mono, glucose, influenza, Urine pregnancy, Urinalysis, blood glucose levels Assist providers with exams and testing (pelvic exams, eye irrigations and ear irrigations, I & D’s, and splinting/ ortho-glass preparation) Maintain confidentiality with all patient information (HIPAA) Logs laboratory procedures when completed, processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed Maintains par levels of supplies in each exam room Performs ECGs on patients when ordered by the provider Able to give medications to patients and follows the five rights of medication administration (as allowed by state regulations) Registration Duties: Greeting all patients with a smile and welcome them to WellNow Assist patients with registration in an efficient manner Collect insurance information on each patient Collect the appropriate co-pays from patients Ensure all patients are assigned to a provider or to nurse-visit in EMR Printing, scanning and faxing documents and reports Answers phones in a polite manner and triages calls as necessary Complete the Save and Finalize process at the end of the day Performs other duties as assigned Committed to the specialty of Urgent Care, with a focus on serving our communities with efficient, convenient, and quality care with continued clinical and patient experience training. Requirements

  • 90 days of service at WellNow Urgent Care
  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Successfully completed all WellNow Urgent Care Patient Care Technician & Reception competencies
  • Fully trained on all WellNow Urgent Care Occupational Medicine services
  • Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices
  • Computer knowledge and skills, must be able to register patients on the computer and use Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Excellent listening and note-taking skills
  • Strong communication skills, including grammatical, spelling and verbal
  • Detail-oriented with proven ability to work effectively under conditions requiring accuracy
  • Capable of working well on a team
  • Friendly and customer service oriented
