About The Position

In this role you will be: Participating in teaching and rehabilitation of the patient. Coordinating discharge planning in conjunction with other members of the health team. Directing and assisting with the Licensed Practical Nurse, Nursing Assistant, or technician in rendering care to patients. Working collaboratively with all members of the patient care team and providing leadership so that standards of professional nursing practice are maintained in a clinical setting. Demonstrating ability to function as a charge nurse as assigned. Demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the span of life. Identifying each patient’s age-specific needs and provide appropriate care for the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, or adult patient and must be able to fulfill the department’s call time requirements. Able to float to various nursing departments, not limited to inpatient, rehab, intensive care and emergency department Able to understand the principles of aseptic technique and sterility.

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • EXPERIENCE: One year experience as a Registered Nurse required, 2-5 years preferred, Critical Care experience preferred
  • LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire
  • ACLS, moderate sedation, basic dysrhythmia course, critical care, required (or obtained within 6 months of hire)
  • Eight (8) Hours of approved Trauma Education per year required
  • Trauma Nurse Course Completion within 1 year of hire or 6 months of transfer
