About The Position

Adventist HealthCare is hiring an MRI Technologist for our Outpatient Imaging in Rockville, MD. Qualified candidates will be eligible for up to a $15,000 sign-on bonus. We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited AMA/JRCERT School of Radiography or earned ARRT MRI registration via 'primary eligibility pathway'.
  • Three years’ experience in MRI.
  • ARRT Advanced Certification in MRI.

Nice To Haves

  • Breast and Cardiac experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating MRI scanners and all ancillary equipment.
  • Assist in training new employees in the use of MRI equipment.
  • Properly identify and perform MRI safety procedures on all patients including those with implantable devices.
  • Understand principles and dangers involved in the administration of oral and intravenous contrast.
  • Identify contraindications to IV contrast administration and recognize symptoms of IV contrast reactions.
  • Initiate cost saving measures with Manager and Director’s approval.
  • Maximize patient throughput and demonstrate teamwork with coworkers by managing patient load using one MRI scanner.
  • Transport patients when necessary.
  • Collaborate with coworkers, radiologists, referring physicians, nurses, and other departments to ensure best patient care possible.
  • Maintain a safe and appropriate work area.
  • Have knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to MRI exams and equipment.
  • Maintain and order appropriate supplies, minimize waste and keep costs down.
  • Be responsible for department staffing.
