About The Position

Sante Health System is in search for a dedicated Float Medical Office Assistant in the Fresno, CA area to apply to join our team. We are currently looking to fill one full-time position. In this Float Medical Office Assistant, you would provide top-notch customer service both in-person and over the phone and assist our physicians with delivering primary health care to our patients. Requirements

High school diploma/GED equivalent
Minimum of five years of medical front office experience
NextGen and Epic experience required
Insurance expertise required
Candidates should have exceptional people and communication skills, be highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, a commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small approach to the work.

Nice To Haves

Procedure/Surgery authorization experience a plus
Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus to assist with Spanish speaking patients

Responsibilities

Cover for absent Front office or as needed.
Provides patient care according to established standard practices.
May perform selected clinical and administrative duties, such as obtaining authorizations for Capsules and FibroScans.
Check in patients and verify and update necessary information in the account.
Check and monitor Clearwave portal.
Check out patients and follow office scheduling policies consistent with provider templates.
Answer the phones, screen calls, take messages and provide necessary information to the callers.
Screen visitors and respond to routine requests for information.
Maintain work area and lobby in a neat and orderly manner.
Attend required meetings.
Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
In the spirit of teamwork, employees are expected to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties as requested.
Print and register daily referrals from fax queue and epic. Sorts and stores all patient files.
Patient check out when provider in office including the follow up appointment. Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Schedule consults and mail out packets (if no assistant provided, based on the volume of the provider)

Knowledge of business office procedures.
Knowledge of managed care products such as HMOs and PPOs.
Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type patient information.
Skill in operating a computer and other office equipment.
Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner. Skill in analyzing and problem-solving.
Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to sort and file materials correctly and in alphabetical or numerical systems.
Ability to make simple calculations accurately.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, employees and the public.
