About The Position

The Medical Assistant - Float will travel and provide clinical coverage at assigned outpatient practice locations throughout Philadelphia and surrounding counties. Receives patients at the time of visit and supports the providers and other clinical staff in the delivery of health care to patients by performing a variety of medically related tasks to ensure smooth patient flow.

Requirements

• Non Degree Program Graduate from a medical assistant program
• 1 year experience providing medical assistance in a physician office, nursing facility or hospital
• Certified Medical Assistant
• Registered Medical Assistant
• Basic Life Support

Responsibilities

• Reception duties
• Administrative and clerical support
• Assistance with patient procedures
• Greets and registers patients
• Completes forms
• Collects and enters patient demographic and billing information
• Prepares charts
• Scheduling
• Maintains office filing system
• Updates electronic medical records as appropriate
• Collects payments in accordance with cash handling policies and procedures
• Assists with the training of new clinical support staff
