Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities includes all the engineering disciplines responsible for systems design & test on all Raytheon products. Our engineers are responsible for all elements of the development lifecycle for test including test requirements, test system design, flight simulations, hardware-in-the-loop, computer-in-the-loop, advanced engineering prototyping technology, flight operations for manned and unmanned vehicles, environmental testing, environmental characterization, and engineering laboratory management. We are hands-on, designing the latest technology and tools, and integrate state of the art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world. Raytheon is seeking a Flight Test Operations Van Testing Manager . Your primary duties will be to manage Flight Test Van Operations and be the driver during testing. You must have a current CDL as well as an active security clearance. When not conducting Van/Vehicle testing responsibilities, you will have Lab Lead responsibilities within the hangar bays of building 845. Lab Lead Support Engineer responsibilities will include managing and implementing engineering lab strategic projects and day-to-day administrative functions within multiple engineering labs, with specific focus on safety, security, and compliance using established doctrine and governance. You will be creative and innovative, possessing strong organizational, coordination, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. In this position, you must be able to collaborate with customers, employees, and senior leaders when implementing process and procedural changes. This position is onsite role in Tucson, AZ.

Requirements

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience
  • Current CDL.
  • Experience in an engineering lab environment area such as: safety, security, compliance and/or property management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Nice To Haves

  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical/electronic skills.
  • Experience with OSHA/NFPA industrial policies and regulations.
  • Experience with working directly with engineers, technicians and leadership in an engineering lab environment in the areas of safety, security, compliance and property management.
  • Experience with EHS, NISPOM, JAFAN and Foreign Object Elimination.
  • Ability to build positive, lasting relationships with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Flight Test Operations Van Testing and associated testing responsibilities
  • Driver during the tests
  • Lab Operating Procedure (LOP) Management; provide direction for lab users on established policies
  • Management, coordination and implementation of Environment Health Safety and Sustainment Property & Metrology Management
  • Perform cost analysis, ensure task completion within approved budgets
  • Provide process support to Supply Chain Management (SCM)
  • Oversee audit/assessment preparation.
  • Overseeing Engineering Lab Objective Evaluation and Voluntary Protection Program; develop corrective action plans and assist in the development of long-range objectives, including engineering customer goals
  • Safeguarding of classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation, utilizing defense material/property under Export Administration Regulations
  • Develop and implement communication plans, providing consulting support to functional and engineering customer management
  • Work to influence stakeholders within and outside responsible area at an operational level regarding policies, practices, and procedures
  • Work autonomously with limited oversight; provide professional input, guidance, and problem solving
  • This position requires some physical exertion while standing, sitting, or walking, working outside
  • Local travel in the general area is required, with occasional travel outside the local area
