In this role, you'll develop flight test instrumentation supporting the world's premier aircraft.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field or equivalent Industry flight test instrumentation experience.
  • At least five years of related, professional experience.
  • Instrumentation experience.
  • Aerospace background.

Nice To Haves

  • ABET-accredited bachelor's in a technical field with a related master's degree.
  • Specific experience in flight test instrumentation and developing data acquisition systems for air vehicles including Curtiss-Wright or Safran equipment.
  • Analog and digital circuit design and analysis.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting techniques and tools, including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and other common laboratory equipment.
  • Background in related specialties: signal conditioning, transducers, data acquisition, video protocols and compression, GPS, IRIG 106, and avionics bus protocols such as MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, IEEE 1394, Ethernet, and Fiber Channel.
  • Proven abilities to define and select equipment to support engineering build requirements.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings & process specifications, CATIA familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Works independently or leads a team to execute project, schedule, and technical requirements to meet the goals of the test program.
  • Responsible for specification, selection, design, integration, operation and maintenance of airborne data acquisition systems, and their related components.
  • Oversees installation, checkout, and calibration of data systems, to ensure collected data can be properly displayed, processed, and analyzed.
  • Maintains configuration control, and mission capability of the instrumentation system as well as all associated ground support equipment.
  • Supports preflight, post-flight, and control room activities for all scheduled missions.
  • Interfaces with test ops, maintenance, management, and customers to ensure all instrumentation requirements are coordinated and accounted for.
