About The Position

Anduril Test and Evaluation is actively seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Flight Test Engineer to support the Discovery business line on a variety of emerging programs. In this role, you will contribute technical expertise and foster strategic collaboration across various teams, including program leadership, supporting companies, and government partners. The Test Engineering team works across the entire spectrum of products, ranging from Lattice Ghost UAS, Sentry Tower, cUAS, and other platforms. The team conducts full system level development testing, new aircraft development, sub-component qualification testing, and more. This is an opportunity to work in an innovative and fast-paced environment where your work directly impacts fielded products. As a Test and Evaluation (T&E) engineer, under minimal supervision, you will determine and develop various approaches to achieve T&E goals and help guide and perform the completion of test activities. Test duties include system level T&E of hardware and software with emphasis placed on resource planning, conducting ground and flight testing, process improvement/development, and generating technical test plans for review.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 4-10+ years test engineering experience.
  • Current Top Secret Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to travel up to 35% of the time to support test requirements.
  • Experience producing customer facing test deliverables (test plans, flight readiness reviews, data analysis, test reports, etc.).
  • Experience as a test conductor and/or test director, or similar (i.e. Range events in the military).
  • Must have a complete understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expansive knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties.
  • Must possess general knowledge of test execution safety and risk management.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and solve problems across a variety of engineering areas.
  • Previous expertise and working knowledge of the National Airspace System and UAS operating rules and regulations.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver results in a highly ambiguous, fast-paced environment with little to no oversight.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with the Department of Defense (DoD) and/or the Intelligence Community.
  • Experience working with First Person View (FPV) drones.
  • Prior unmanned drone or small UAS experience.
  • Professional experience utilizing data analysis tools or programming languages (Python, MATLAB, etc).
  • Experience with Linux Operating Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Determine and develop various approaches to achieve T&E goals and help guide and perform the completion of test activities.
  • Perform system level T&E of hardware and software with emphasis placed on resource planning, conducting ground and flight testing, process improvement/development and generating technical test plans for review.
  • Lead execution of testing of testing at private and and government owned test ranges.
  • Work closely with Engineering to discuss test results, to include collected data and observations.
  • Collect and perform initial test data analysis for the system under test.
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
