About The Position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Flight Test Control Engineer for Navy & Marine F-35 test aircraft at Patuxent River NAS, Maryland. This role involves providing Flight Test Ground and Operations engineering support, including coordinating and implementing pre-flight and post-flight activities to ensure aircraft test readiness. Key responsibilities include issuing and closing documentation related to aircraft work, coordinating modifications, controlling and tracking aircraft configuration, and staging support equipment. The position requires coordination with various organizations for test readiness and serves as the primary liaison between maintenance and engineering personnel. Requirements

  • Prior Flight Test and aircraft ground test experience.
  • Experience working with Aircraft Systems and/or Maintenance/Modification Procedures.
  • Control and tracking of aircraft configuration experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be located at a facility that requires special access.
  • Requires a government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with ALIS (Autonomic Logistics Information System).
  • Ability to coordinate with other organizations.
  • Demonstrated Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
  • Bachelor's degree a plus.
  • Must be willing to work different shifts and weekends.
  • Familiarity and experience working with LM applications and JSF electronic tools: JEDI, VAS, PDM, JDL.
  • Self starter and logical problem solver.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of project management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Flight Test Ground and Operations engineering support.
  • Coordinate and implement pre-flight and post-flight activities to ensure aircraft's test readiness.
  • Issue and close documentation relating to work performed on the aircraft.
  • Coordinate aircraft modifications.
  • Control and track aircraft configuration.
  • Coordinate and stage support equipment.
  • Coordinate with other organizations associated with test readiness.
  • Act as the principal focal point between maintenance and engineering personnel.
