About The Position

Dynetics, a Leidos Company, is seeking a talented Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to join a diverse team creating unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. Dynetics is seeking a GNC Engineer to support developmental efforts for guidance, navigation, and control of air, land, and sea launched flight systems. As a result of recent growing programs, such as the AGM-190/A Small Cruise Missile, US SOCOM’s GBU 69/B Small Glide Munition, multiple Hypersonic Missile programs, DARPA’s Gremlins program, and other rapid development efforts. Dynetics is looking for a GNC Engineer who is experienced with flight vehicles, guided munitions, and/or UAS systems. The successful applicant will demonstrate prior work or graduate level research as applied to the development of navigation, guidance, and/or autopilot algorithms, along with an ability to support GNC development on advanced weapon systems in a highly accelerated schedule to meet critical needs for the warfighters. Streamlined development efforts will result in concept-to-flight timelines measured in months, not years. The candidate is expected to directly support development efforts while mentoring and training engineering staff throughout development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics plus 2 or more years of work or graduate level research experience with feedback control system design, trajectory optimization, guidance, navigation, and/or optimal estimation with knowledge of basic aerodynamic principles.
  • Strong math skills are required in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, and trigonometry and coordinate transformation.
  • Must be experienced in MATLAB, Simulink, and C/C++ programming.
  • Candidate must possess solid technical communication skills and an ability to work in both collaborative team environments and independently.
