This position is contingent on program award expected early Q2 2026 This position is for a Software Systems Engineer supporting the Space Software Product Line Mobile User Objective System Service Life Extension (MUOS SLE) Flight Software Team. This role will support the entire flight software development lifecycle (design, integration, test) for the Bus and Payload Flight Software domains. Responsibilities could include working in a collaborative environment interacting with peers, other SSPL FSW, SmartSat team members, and occasional customer interactions. This includes supporting the development of Specifications and Interface Control Documents, test scenarios to test new capability or verify defect fix, and participating in system testing activities with other organizations. This role requires close collaboration across different IPTs on the program and with vendors to develop, test, and verify the flight software in a dynamic, agile environment with hardware in the loop.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Software/Systems Engineering concepts and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing is required.

Nice To Haves

  • JIRA / Agile Methodology
  • Experience performing Software testing or SW/HW integration activities
  • Experience with Spacecraft Bus or Payload Flight Software
