About The Position

METECS is an engineering and applied technology company that provides high-fidelity simulation and software development for NASA’s Johnson Space Center. We are seeking a Flight Software Engineer to support NASA’s insight into the Gateway Lunar Space Station development. Your support of this effort will occur throughout the software development life cycle from software systems engineering, design and development through testing, verification and validation, and certification. An ideal candidate must have a strong interest in software development and the initiative and aptitude for hands-on problem solving and troubleshooting. You will be required to review software and software development processes and determine if they meet NASA requirements. You will also be required to configure vendor provided test simulation software for use at Johnson Space Center. This position requires on-site presence at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. Requirements

  • Bachelor or Advanced Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of related experience.
  • Good working knowledge of C, C++, and Python.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced software development in a Linux environment.
  • Citizenship or lawful permanent resident required due to federal position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems (VxWorks, Green Hils, etc).
  • Experience with design of Embedded Systems.
  • Experience with software test development for End to End Integration.
  • Familiarity with Simulation development.
  • Advanced experience with NASA Core flight software (cFS).
  • Experience with automation scripting and DevOp tools (Bash, Shell scripting and Jenkins).
  • Familiarity with Avionics and Spacecraft Software Integration.
