About The Position

The Flight Paramedic is responsible for delivering critical care to patients in diverse and non-traditional settings, demonstrating advanced critical thinking and collaboration with healthcare providers. This role involves making autonomous decisions regarding patient care and destination, maintaining necessary certifications, and ensuring quality assurance in medical practices.

Requirements

• Currently certified Paramedic in the state of operations with no restrictions on certification.
• Minimum of three years of experience with a high-volume service (1600 hours/year minimum).
• Maintain certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS).
• Complete an Advanced Trauma Course (e.g., ATLS, TNCC, PHTLS).
• Obtain FP-C or CCP-C certification within two years of hire.
• Must weigh less than 215 pounds fully dressed at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

• National Registry certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and train medical crew members in continuing education.
• Make decisions for patient care and appropriate destination in conjunction with the Flight Nurse partner.
• Maintain training and skills related to flight paramedic duties and medical guidelines.
• Assist with quality assurance, including data collection and chart reviews for improvement.
• Care for critically ill or injured patients during flights.
• Present a professional appearance and communicate courteously with customers and colleagues.
• Check equipment, medications, and supplies at the beginning and end of each shift and flight.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• Work diplomatically with multiple agencies at emergency scenes.
• Follow all federal, state, and municipal laws, including HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
