About The Position

The Flight Ops Intern at Collins Aerospace will work side-by-side with experienced pilots, technicians, and engineers as we design, develop, and test the latest in aircraft avionics using our maintained fleet of experimental Bombardier and Cessna aircraft. This is a unique department that has been engaged in research and development flight testing for over 80 years! This role is onsite, at the Eastern Iowa Airport (Cedar Rapids). This role may be eligible for relocation.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status).

Nice To Haves

  • Pursuing an aviation degree in an accredited professional pilot or aircraft maintenance program.
  • FAA pilot and/or mechanic certification.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day management of a corporate part 91 flight department.
  • Work on advanced research and development projects involving the latest avionics technologies.
  • Contribute to the operation and maintenance of our fleet of jet, turboprop, and piston flight test aircraft.
