This position is Pilot in Command (PIC) for 747 flight operations. PIC or ability to obtain PIC in 747 aircraft is required. Additional responsibilities include: mission planning and airworthiness discussions; testing and implementing process improvements; readiness meetings; relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; performing a variety of complicated tasks. Who You Are and What You Need: Knowledge and proficient understanding of DoD and FAA aviation rules and procedures Knowledge and understanding of the theory of flight, air navigation, meteorology, FAA and ICAO directives/instructions, aircraft operating procedures, and flight operations FAA commercial instrument or ATP certificate 747-4 and 747-8 type ratings Valid FAA proficiency check completed within the last 2 years, including type rating if required Meet recency of experience requirements per 14 CFR 61.57 Valid FAA Class II medical Government-issued photo ID Minimum of 10 years of experience as an active pilot crewmember with aircrew instructor/evaluator qualifications and prior operations experience in heavy jet aircraft Familiarity with USAF operational/test instructions, FAA policies/regulations, and mission planning software Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
