About The Position

Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking experienced Flight Operations Mechanics to join our team in Patuxent River, MD. Flight encompasses all of the duties of the following job classifications: Inspector Aircraft, Mechanic Electrical and Electronics, and Mechanic Flight.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience performing military aircraft maintenance activities.
  • 1+ years of experience in a military or commercial aircraft environment.
  • Military fighter or commercial aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Current and valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Aircraft electrical/electronic experience.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect the calibration, adjustment, troubleshooting, repair and modification of electronic test equipment used exclusively by production.
  • Perform activities prior to flight status and final inspection and daily maintenance of completed experimental aircraft or major modification to experimental aircraft.
  • Inspect and/or perform bench and flight line operational checkout and inspect, troubleshooting, adjustment and repair of electrical and electronic systems.
  • Fabricate parts such as skins, doors, aircraft frames, air bags, test panels, clips, brackets, angles and ribs without the aid of jigs and fixtures.
  • Perform aircraft flight line operational checkout, troubleshooting, adjustment and repair of any electrical or electronic system.
  • Install or replace instruments such as fuel quantity, rate of climb and oil pressure indicators.
  • Install, repair, and replace tanks, power plants, generators, and aircraft engines.
  • Perform operational checkout of hydraulic systems and mechanical systems.
  • Fabricate, adjust, troubleshoot, repair and modify electronic test equipment.
  • Repair, install and hook up bomb, missile and rocket racks and pylons.
  • Perform operational checkout of aircraft prior to and during preflight.
  • Install, adjust, repair and replace structural parts and assemblies.
  • Operate engines during run-ups and troubleshoot when needed.
  • Splice, route, clamp, solder, and string tie wires or wire bundles.
  • Diagnose and correct hydraulic and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Modify aircraft components or aircraft support equipment.
  • Install or replace reservoirs, etc. and repair leaks.
  • Inspect explosive and armament installations.
  • Install and load ejection seats and guns.
  • Perform engine buildup as assigned.
  • Maintain aircraft historical records.
  • Perform composite repairs.
