About The Position

REVA is one of the largest fixed wing air ambulance operators globally and provides medical transport services on 24/7/365 continuous basis. Responsibilities of the Flight Nurse include evaluation, coordination, and delivery of medical care provided to patients during all phases of transport. Must be familiar with scope of practice of the transport team and the State rules and regulations in which the transport team operates. Works with the other transport team members to coordinate care of the patient during transport; once called, readily available/arrive at specified location, within 30 minutes before wheels. The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. The flight nurse is responsible for completing the quarterly and annual requirements to maintain active flight status to include: completion of intubations quarterly, attendance at staff meetings, and annual: airway course, mock codes, annual online training program, safety and infection control, aircraft / personnel security briefing, equipment and supplies competency / currency validation, medical screening update, wellness form, EMS Rules and Regulations, and Haz-mat recognition and response.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in critical care and/or emergency care nursing.
  • Successful completion of the medication, rhythm strip evaluation.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, PHTLS
  • Active, unrestricted State / Government license. (depending upon home base location).
  • Valid Passport with no restrictions to travel to/from and within the U.S. and foreign countries/ territories that the position is required to travel.
  • Ability to arrive at specified location, within 45 minutes of wheels. (Time extensions granted on a case- by-case basis.)
  • Successful completion of the ground school and orientation program.
  • Supplies current licensure and/or certifications on a continual basis. Employees are responsible for maintaining active RN License.
  • Expected to answer phone while on call.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including but not limited to: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams.
  • Proficient with ESO Charting Software.
  • Active unrestricted (RN) License
  • Required to maintain the following certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, PHTLS

Nice To Haves

  • Nursing certifications (i.e., CEN, CCRN, and especially CFRN) are strongly encouraged.
  • Paramedic certification is strongly encouraged.
  • Strongly encouraged to have one of the following advanced specialty certifications: Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN), Certified Transport Registered Nurse (CTRN), Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN).
