About The Position

ECU Health At the James and Connie Maynard Childrens Hospital, located at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, we are committed to caring for the kids of eastern North Carolina. As the regions only Childrens Hospital, this hospital within a hospital has a total 197 beds and bassinets, including a Level IV NICU, quaternary PICU with ECMO capabilities, a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department, and a specialized critical-care transport team. Using the latest technologies and highly trained personnel, our child-centered clinical care is unrivaled. Position Summary Delivers quality patient care, utilizing the nursing process (assessment, implementation, and evaluation) to guide care delivery. Executes, revises and evaluates the ECU Health Medical Center Nursing Professional Practice Model and Model of Care. Delivery to support professional practice and collaborative partnerships with each other, physicians and members of the healthcare team. Engages in professional growth and development, continuing competence and lifelong learning, quality of care and research to positively affect empirical outcomes. Develops others in the profession. Participates in a leadership role, in community partnerships and collaborative initiatives such as professional organizations and community outreach programs.

Requirements

  • Associated Degree Nursing (ADN) Required - or higher.
  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) Preferred.
  • Registered Nurse or temporary North Carolina licensure.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS required.
  • Clinical experience as part of education.
  • AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, NRP, and a trauma certification must be obtained before the end of orientation.
  • Must obtain your EMT within one year from the end of your orientation.
  • One specialty certification (e.g., CFRN) must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
  • 3 years of experience OR 4,000 hours as a RN from an ICU or ER setting.
  • Experience as an EastCare Flight Paramedic may qualify as applicable years of experience.
  • Maintain a maximum weight limit of 250 pounds or less.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in neonatal, pediatric, or critical care field.
  • One specialty certification in neonatal/pediatric field (e.g., C-NPT) obtained within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality patient care utilizing the nursing process.
  • Execute, revise, and evaluate the Nursing Professional Practice Model.
  • Support professional practice and collaborative partnerships.
  • Engage in professional growth and development.
  • Participate in leadership roles and community partnerships.

Benefits

  • Full-Time employment with 1.0 FTE / 40 hours per week.
  • Rotating shifts of (3) 12 hour shifts 0600-1800 and 1800-0600.
