The Flight Instructor Pilot is responsible to the Flight Program Lead Pilot for performing the duties assigned. As a certified pilot, the Flight Instructor Pilot is required to pilot the aircraft by all applicable FAA regulations. This position will provide primary and advanced flight instruction delivering private/instrument/commercial training for airplane and helicopter training syllabi. The position will also serve as an Instructor Pilot and Pilot in Command of multiple aircraft types operating in Foreign and Domestic locations as the mission requires to train and mentor DEA helicopter pilots. Full-time responsibility is located at KCXO Conroe North Houston Airport, TX. Extensive travel is not normally required but may be required to support operational missions worldwide, including active combat zones. Potential deployment times of 30 days or more could involve as much as 50%-travel annually.

  • Conducting flight training to include Flight Training Device (FTD) instruction
  • Assisting with operations and logistics related to drug enforcement activities
  • Transportation of equipment, personnel, evidence, prisoners, and VIPs
  • Conducting maintenance check flights
  • Conducting flight profiles in conjunction with contractual requirements
  • Writing and developing curriculum
  • Valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) License
  • Current first-class FAA medical certificate
  • No previous aviation accident record
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Helicopter/Helicopter ATP
  • Certified Flight Instructor - Helicopter
  • Certified Flight Instructor Instrument - Helicopter
  • Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) - ASEL and or AMEL
  • Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) ASEL and or AMEL
  • 1,500 hours logged total pilot time
  • 250 hours as an instructor to include instrument instruction
  • 200 hours night/200 hours instrument
  • 500 hours cross country
  • Airplane Multi-Engine Land (AMEL) (ATP)
  • NVG Instructor Experience
  • 1000 hours multi-engine Pilot-in Command (PIC)
  • 1500 hours turbine engine PIC
  • Foreign flight experience
