About The Position

We are a team of mission-driven engineers with experience across aerospace, robotics and self-driving cars working to make this future a reality. As a Flight Control Law Engineering Intern at Reliable Robotics, you will work alongside a team of mission-driven engineers with experience across aviation, space, robotics and self-driving cars to support our autonomous flight systems. You will contribute to the design, implementation, integration, and test flight control laws for all phases of operation including autotaxi, auto-takeoff, autoland, and automatic rollout.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in an undergraduate program in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, robotics engineering, or similar field of study
  • A solid understanding of fundamentals -- engineering math, kinematics, dynamics, and classical control theory
  • Proficient in C++ and Python
  • Proactive and motivated to tackle hard problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program in aerospace engineering, robotics engineering, electrical engineering, or similar advanced degree
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Aircraft modeling and dynamics, control theory, optimization
  • Experience developing software for safety critical applications

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze and implement ground and flight control laws for gate-to-gate aircraft operation
  • Develop and refine simulation models required for control system verification
  • Perform linear analysis of control laws to evaluate stability, robustness, and performance
  • Integrate and verify control system features in software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test environments
  • Develop flight test plans and conduct post-test data review
