We have an exciting new position for a 2nd Shift Flexographic Press Apprentice. In this role, you will train to develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviors required to independently operate a roll / flexographic press. On-the-job training will be conducted for this role, during 1st shift (7:30 am to 4 pm) for approximately 4-6 weeks prior to taking on a set schedule of 2:30-11:00pm. Press Setup Training: Train under the direction of experienced press operators to develop a working knowledge of roll press operations, materials, and production workflows. Assist with make-ready procedures, load materials and rolls onto the press, set up magnetic die cylinders as training progresses, and support safe, efficient job changeovers and breakdowns, including removal of print cylinders, anilox rolls, and ink chambers. Learn to read and interpret job tickets, specifications, and press controls as you progress toward independent operation. Quality, Maintenance & Efficiency: Understand and follow established safety and production procedures while maintaining quality standards. Perform routine press maintenance, cleaning, and housekeeping tasks to support equipment performance. Identify and communicate job changes, defects, and process issues, and support waste-reduction efforts by applying LEAN principles and standard work practices. Apprenticeship Development: Work collaboratively with press operators and support teams across shifts to maintain clear, respectful communication and consistent workflow. Demonstrate accountability, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude toward coaching and feedback. Progressively build the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to become a skilled roll press operator while supporting production, safety, and customer commitments.
