About The Position

Operator will set up, adjust, operate, and maintain multi-color offset flexo press to print up to eight-color work, which includes large solids, screen tints, line and halftones with critical color values and registration requirements. Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as mounting plates or installing cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and checks for correct positioning of images, adjusting tension and register, etc. Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work. Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, working with maintenance to make minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required. Performs periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer. Ensures that production goals are met. Obtains and maintains register during the make-ready and production processes. Changes required plates or cylinders. Adjusts roll mechanisms, tension and guide devices. Assists with training of new Press Assistants and Press Operators. Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out - tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies. Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers,
  • Occasionally required to kneel, crouch, stoop or crawl as well as lifting/moving from 50-70 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 200 pounds.
