We are currently looking for an Assistant Press Helper to assist Press Operators in preparation and/or wash up of jobs going to and from press. Assist Press Operators with setups to ensure presses are run according to job specifications. Schedule: 2nd shift M-Thurs 3pm-1am, Friday OT available. Compensation: $19-$22/hr depending on experience, shift differential available.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Assist the Press Operator in their duties, such as cleaning anilox rolls needed for future run orders.
• Assist in changing anilox rolls, doctor blades, ink fountains, printing cylinders and other press components.
• As part of the training in this role, eventual duties would include mounting/demounting plates, setting print impressions, webbing various press components, running and or filling in on press in Press Operator’s absence.
• Report any equipment or material problems to team/team leader immediately for prompt correction of problem.
• Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
• Upholds all ethical standards associated with safety, quality and food safety policies and procedures within the facility, including the TC Transcontinental Code of Conduct and values.
• Complies with all the standards that are followed in the TC Huntley plant, including, but not limited to-Health, Safety, Wellness (HSW), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF), Continuous Improvement (CI) and any other processes established within the TC Huntley plant.
• Responsible for reporting all safety, quality, and food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
• Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
• Performs responsibilities to expected outcomes.
• Communicates openly, truthfully, and compassionately with respect for individual differences.
• Identify issues and problems within manufacturing and quality processes.
• Work with Supervisor/Manager to define and resolve problems, as well as recommend improvement processes.
• Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
