About The Position

The Flexo Plate Maker retrieves imaging files from the production server as required to fulfill requirements for production plate orders and verifies all job information to ensure that the correct plates will be made. The Flexo Plate Maker is also required to trim, finish, quality assure, pack and ship plates upon completion. Duties also include raw material handling, solvent recovery, waste handling and preventive maintenance. Administrative duties include material and time data keeping, equipment preventive maintenance logs, inventories and quality records.

Requirements

• 2 year technical degree or certification
• 1-2 years Printing or platemaking experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure, handling multiple tasks in a fast paced deadline driven environment
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with and experience in the graphic arts
• Experience in flexo plate making
• Knowledge of flexographic plate making systems, especially Esko, CDI and XPS plate making systems is a plus
• Mechanical skills using small hand tools to make minor repairs and perform maintenance on platemaking equipment
• Operate a Forklift

Responsibilities

• Responsible for physical creation of flexographic plates
• Retrieves imaging files from production server
• Verifies job information to ensure correct plates are produced
• Produce, trim, finish, quality check, pack and ship printing plates
• Responsible for solvent recovery, waste handling and preventive equipment maintenance
• Maintains and stocks inventory for plate making materials
• Maintains preventive maintenance log, inventory and quality records
• Other duties as assigned
