Flex Truck Driver - Class A - Penske Logistics
About The Position
This is an immediate opportunity for a full-time Class A CDL Truck Driver with Penske Logistics. The role involves regional travel, up to 100%, where drivers will work at various locations for assignments typically lasting 1 to 3 weeks. Responsibilities include performing multi-stop deliveries of parts and supplies to automotive dealerships, unloading trailers using manual pallet jacks, hand trucks, and rolling cages, and scanning products. Drivers will operate late model, Penske-maintained trucks equipped with in-cab cameras for safety. Penske emphasizes a commitment to delivering products safely and on time, providing excellent customer service, and building relationships with accounts. Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
- Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
- 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years
- 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
- English language proficiency (compliant with 49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2))
- Complete Penske employment application
- Submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
- Ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others
- Ability to see and hear
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit
- Frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg
- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area
Responsibilities
- Travel regionally to work at various locations as needed
- Perform multi-stop deliveries of parts and supplies to automotive dealerships
- Unload trailer using manual pallet jacks, hand trucks, and rolling cages
- Use scanner to scan products as they are unloaded and delivered
- Work the required schedule and at the specific location required
- Accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others
