About The Position

The Flex Service Technician & Trade Project Manager is a hybrid role responsible for both hands-on field service work and end-to-end management of window and door installation projects. This role ensures successful project execution from installation through final service resolution while delivering exceptional customer experience, technical expertise, and project oversight. This position will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and install window and door products in the field while also managing construction and installation projects, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring timely, profitable, and high-quality project completion.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 5+ years of experience in construction, window/door installation, service, or related field preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents and drawings
  • Proficiency with power tools and field equipment
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to learn and use company-specific systems (PQM, OMS, OSC, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • Must comply with company Fleet Safety Policy
  • Post-offer background check, MVR check, and drug screen required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fenestration, commercial construction, or field project coordination strongly preferred
  • Willingness to obtain OSHA and other safety-related certifications (forklift, lift equipment, CPR, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and replace Marvin window and door components in customer homes and job sites
  • Replace glass, screens, muntins, blinds, shades, and related components
  • Perform service repairs, warranty work, and quality inspections in the field
  • Conduct jobsite walkthroughs to identify issues prior to project completion
  • Provide customers with education on care, operation, and maintenance of products
  • Complete service paperwork, work orders, and documentation for billing and follow-up
  • Load, maintain, and organize service vehicle, tools, and parts inventory
  • Order service parts through CSR or internal systems
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and resolve service issues to completion
  • Support training of new service technicians when needed
  • Manage multiple window and door installation projects from pre-construction through closeout
  • Coordinate delivery, installation, and subcontracted labor
  • Attend pre-installation meetings with contractors, architects, and installers
  • Ensure installation aligns with shop drawings, specifications, and manufacturer requirements
  • Establish project timelines, assign responsibilities, and track progress
  • Identify and resolve field issues and construction challenges
  • Conduct field measurements and verify project requirements when needed
  • Collaborate with Sales and Trade teams to support project success and acquisition efforts
  • Oversee service events related to active projects and ensure resolution
  • Produce closeout documentation including warranties, manuals, and completion packages
  • Maintain strong relationships with contractors, site supervisors, and customers
  • Use of software programs to communicate and track job progress
  • Always serve as a customer service champion by consistently delivering a positive, professional, and solution-focused experience for every customer interaction, while representing the company’s values.
  • Ensure all projects and service work result in a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Communicate clearly with customers, CSR teams, installers, and internal staff
  • Promote continuous improvement and company initiatives
  • Maintain professional appearance and behavior in the field
  • Follow all safety policies and maintain clean, organized work environments
  • Support company mission of delivering exceptional customer experience
  • Complete service and project documentation accurately and timely
  • Use company software systems (PQM, OMS, OSC, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications
  • Perform basic construction math, including measurements, area, and volume calculations
  • Maintain accurate records of service history, project updates, and communications
